Teen Pageant announces Family Island Queens: Largest Contingent Ever!

Nassau, The Bahamas-  Theodore Elyett’s Miss Teen Bahamas Organization is breaking more records; not only in teen pageantry, but within the entire Bahamian pageantry arena!  This year, we are pleased to welcome almost one dozen family island representatives to our teen pageant program!

 

Each delegate was chosen to represent their island in our national pageant because of their poise, grace and love for their respective islands.  All will travel to the capital to partake in two months of intense training, over 20 runway and stage preparation sessions, Toastmaster’s speech seminars, grooming techniques and preliminary events.  Finally, they will compete with other delegates in the grand finale slated for August 21, 2010.

 

Here are our family island delegates:

 

MISS TEEN GRAND BAHAMA: Fifteen (15) year old Joquain Williams, a 10th grade student of St. Georges High School, views representing her island in the national pageant as a great honour and joy.  Crowned May 30th , 2010, she is looking forward to the national pageant being a new experience and is eager to compete!  She cites her bubbly personality and ability to easily make new friends as qualities that make her unique.

MISS TEEN WEST GRAND BAHAMA: Eighteen (18) year old Rakia Rolle, a recent graduate of Tabernacle Baptist Academy, is ecstatic to represent her island.  She hopes to create lasting friendships with the other contestants, become a more disciplined individual and try her best to win the crown.  Crowned May 30th, 2010, she cites her physical and inner beauty as her most unique qualities.  Her hobbies include modeling and dancing.

 

Your browser may not support display of this image. MISS TEEN ABACO: Sixteen (16) Blair Johnson, a 10th grade student of Forest Heights Academy, is no stranger to the spotlight. This teen queen is featured on the cover of the 2010 B.T.C. phonebook indulging in one of her favorite pastimes- fishing!  Crowned June 11th, 2010, Blair pledges that she will represent Abaco to the best of her ability in the national pageant.  This 9th generation Abaconian cites her outgoing personality and strong support system as her most unique qualities.

 

MISS TEEN LONG ISLAND: Fifteen (15) year old Gabrielle Knowles, a 10th grade student at N.G.M. Major High School, is ecstatic about being crowned the 1st Miss Teen Long Island.  Crowned May 23rd, 2010, she hopes to inspire her peers and other teenagers to always strive for their goals- no matter how far they may seem.  This aspiring architect enjoys drawing, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

 

MISS TEEN NORTHERN BAHAMAS: Fourteen (14) year old Deante’ Bain, a 9th grade student of Abaco’s Cyber Learning Center, is looking forward to showcasing her individuality at the national competition.  Crowned, May 6th, 2010, she believes that self worth is most important and that one’s goals should not be hindered by negativity from others.  She cites her ability to multitask as her most unique quality.

 

MISS TEEN EXUMA: Standing 6foot 1inch tall is seventeen (17) year old Kendanique Williams. A current student at Bahamas Baptist College- her hobbies include photography, writing and painting.  One of her goals in the pageant is to inspire others to do well.  Selected on June 14th, 2010, she cites her academic achievements, having graduated high school at only 15 years old, as her most unique quality!

 

MISS TEEN SAN SALVADOR: Sixteen (16) year old Shakanta Jones is the most recent family island queen to be confirmed for the pageant.  Crowned June 17th, 2010, this 11th grade student of San Salvador High School is ready for the competition!  She is proud to be the island’s second representative competing in the national pageant.  

 

In addition to welcoming the largest family island contingent ever seen in pageant history; the organization we will break additional records this pageant season by hosting anywhere between 20-30 young ladies in our teen summer program.  We are working diligently to ensure that this year’s pageant is the best thus far!

 

Theodore Elyett’s Miss Teen Bahamas Organization President, Theodore Sealy, says “Our entire organization is beyond elated to welcome our Family Island Queens into our pageant family for our 2010 pageant season. We salute our Family Island Directors who have all done a wonderful job in selecting the best and brightest delegates to represent their respective islands in our national pageant.” He continued, “It is heartwarming to know that as we celebrate 5 years of beauty and excellence, we can welcome such a large contingent of family island representatives. This truly attests and confirms that we are doing something right as we continue to grow into the largest pageant organization in The Bahamas.”
