NASSAU, The Bahamas – The National
Emergency Management Agency, NEMA deactivated its National Emergency
Operations Centre late Wednesday night, following the discontinuation
of storm warnings for The Bahamas.
However, NEMA will continue to monitor
the activities until the winds subside, the bands of showers associated
with the system dissipate and the “all clear” is issued by the Bahamas
Department of Meteorology, said Director of NEMA Captain Stephen Russell.
Meanwhile, residents throughout The
Bahamas are being encouraged to continue to exercise caution as they
move about, especially as the bands of showers continue across the islands
and sea conditions remain unfavourable.
