US Coast Guard Officials pay courtesy call on Commander Defence Force

Coral Harbour Base, (RBDF): Commander Michael Benson and Lieutenant Commander Justin Matejka from the United States Embassy in Nassau, paid a courtesy call on Commander Defence Force, Commodore Tellis Bethel on July 31, 2018 at the Defence Force Base.


Commander Benson serves as Director of Operation Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) at the U.S. Embassy in Nassau. He replaces Commander Tom Gill, who recently completed his tour of duty in The Bahamas.

Lieutenant Commander Justin Matejka serves as the United States Coast Guard Liaison Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Nassau. He replaces Lieutenant Commander Aaron Mader, who also completed his tour of duty after previously serving in this position.

The two US Coast Guard Officers were also introduced to air, land and sea component commanders of the Defence Force under the Defence Force' Operations Branch. Both parties discussed operational matters of mutual interest including the strengthening of border security.
