Seven Day Weather Forecast From 7th – 13TH MARCH, 2013

General Situation: a weakening frontal boundary in vicinity of the central Bahamas will continue moving eastward and out of the area by tonight. A high pressure ridge will gradually build across the islands into the weekend bringing breezy and generally mild conditions. Another cold front is to reach the extreme northern islands late night Wednesday.

Large north and northeasterly swells will affect the north and east coast of the islands Friday through Monday night. Boaters, swimmers and beach goers are asked to exercise extreme caution.

Daylight saving time comes into effect at 2:00am Sunday 10, March 2013. Clocks move forward one (1) hour.

Thursday 7th – A Mix of Sun and Clouds and Mild during the day with a slight chance of an Isolated Shower; Maximum Temperature 74°F. Partly Cloudy and Cool at night with a slight chance of a brief Isolated Shower; Minimum Temperature 63°F. Winds NW-N, 10-15 knots during the day becoming N’LY, 10-15 knots at night; Seas 3-5 feet near shore but up to 7 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in N’LY swells. Small craft should exercise caution along the Atlantic expose water.

Friday 8th – A Mix of Sun and Clouds and Mild during the day; Maximum Temperature 75F. Partly Cloudy, a bit Breezy and Cool at night; Minimum Temperature 62°F. Winds N’LY, 10-15 knots during the day but increasing to 15 knots at night; Seas 3-5 feet near shore but up to 9 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in N’LY swells. Small craft should exercise caution along the Atlantic expose water.

Saturday 9th – Partly Cloudy, Breezy and Mild during the day with a slight chance of a stray Isolated Shower; Maximum Temperature 75°F. Partly Cloudy, Breezy and Cool at night with a slight chance of Isolated early morning Showers; Minimum Temperature 64ºF. Winds N-NE, 15-20 knots over ALL areas; Seas 4-6 feet near shore but up to 11 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in large NNE’LY swells. Small craft should not venture far from port.

Sunday 10th – Partly Cloudy, Breezy and a bit Warm during the day; Maximum Temperature 77°F. Mostly Fair, Breezy and Cool at night; Minimum Temperature 66ºF. Winds NE-E, 15 knots over ALL areas; Seas 5-7 feet near shore but up to 13 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in extreme large NE’LY swells. Small craft should remain in port

Monday 11th – Mostly Sunny, a tad Breezy and Warm during the day with a slight chance of Isolated Showers; Maximum Temperature 78°F. Mostly Fair and Cool at night with a slight chance of a stray early morning Shower; Minimum Temperature 68ºF. Winds E-SE, 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and E’LY, 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 4-6 feet near shore but up to 11 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in large NE’LY swells. Small craft should not venture far from port.

Tuesday 12th – Mostly Sunny and quite Warm during the day with a slight chance of Isolated morning Showers; Maximum Temperature 80F. Mostly Fair and Comfortable at night; Minimum Temperature 68°F. Winds SE-S, 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and E-SE, 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 3-5 feet near shore but up to 9 feet over the Atlantic expose waters in moderate NE’LY swells. Small craft should exercise caution along the Atlantic expose water.

Wednesday 13th – Mostly Sunny and rather Warm during the day; Maximum Temperature 80°F. Mostly Fair and Comfortable at night; Minimum Temperature 69°F. Winds SE-S, 10 knots or less in the Northwest Bahamas and E’LY, 10-15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 3-5 feet along with moderate NE’LY swells.
