Over 500 entries have been made to the Ministry of Tourism’s Facebook page for its #Bahamasbestbeaches promotion and now tourism officials are making a final push for more breathtaking beach photos.

The competition, which began in late July, aims to use social media to get a look at the best of the nation’s beaches through the eyes of residents and tourists.

When participants upload a unique and engaging photo of a Bahamian beach at the ministry’s Facebook.com/TravelBahamas page or post via Twitter and Instagram @ VisitTheBahamas using the hashtag #BahamasBestBeaches – they are automatically entered to win a five-day, four night stay at Pelican Bay on Grand Bahama.

"We are awarding the winner of this contest a five-day/four-night stay in Grand Bahama Island. Who would not love to be the lucky recipient of a prize like that,” said General Manager of Global Communications Andre Miller.

“There are only a few days left for Bahamians and US visitors to participate in our first ever 'best beaches' photo contest via social media. I invite everyone to show the world why their favorite stunning beach photo(s), on that Bahamian island they love, is the best beach The Bahamas has to offer. Enter now before it's too late."

The contest ends August 24,2014.
