PLANTATION, Florida -  Veteran American pilot, Captain, Mark Steinberg, Chairman of The Bahamas Ambassador Fly In Program, will lead some fifty four persons on twenty-four airplanes on a one and one half hour journey into Treasure Cay, Abaco in The Bahamas from Ft. Myers, Florida, July 2-6, 2014. The event is a special Fly In program in celebration of the USA Independence holiday and is being sponsored by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism (BMOT).

Themed Bahamas Beach Barbeque, the Fly In is a collaboration of two nations celebrating Independence with their families through love, culture and beauty. (The Bahamas will celebrate its 41stIndependence on July 10, 2014).

This year’s Fly In event has attracted fifteen new first time pilots to The Bahamas, who will fly at an altitude of 3,500 to 5,500 feet. Upon crossing the Gulf stream, the pilots can expect to behold the unmatched beauty of the crystal clear waters of The Bahamas, a scene so intriguing, NASA’s pilots captured and documented it from outer space.

As first time pilots to The Bahamas, these novices, will be assisted greatly by Captain Steinberg and Chief Pilot, Greg Rolle who also serves as Director of Sports for the BMOT. They will educate the new pilots on the geography of The Bahamas as well as assist them with the procurement of necessary approvals from The Bahamas Departments of Customs and Immigration.

Guests can expect to feel at home at any of the specially planned receptions and beach barbeque, which will feature American traditional dishes, prepared Bahamian style. The barbeque gala, scheduled for July 4, will be held under the clear skies and on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, at Treasure Cay, Abaco. While there they will also visit other near-by islands in The Bahamas’ 700 islands chain as well as fish, dive, snorkel and relax. The Bahamas Fly-In Ambassador program, is a joint initiative with the BMOT and The Bahamas Aviation Department to increase pilots participation into The Islands Of The Bahamas and consist of seasoned pilots with extensive experience in flying into and around The Islands Of The Bahamas.
