Fort Lauderdale, Fl The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation and the Bahama Out Island Promotion Board, recently announced a ground breaking promotion, “Private Pilot $300.00 Instant Credit Savings” for travel and stay at various Out Island resorts and hotels throughout the Islands of The Bahamas.

The private pilot promotion targeting general aviation pilots, is a variation of the hugely successful, Companion Fly Free marketing initiative that was launched by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism in the fall of 2009. The latest promotion offers USA private pilots up to $300 in instant savings when they fly to one of the Out Islands of The Bahamas and stay at a participating hotel for 4 nights.

The offer is good for travel through June 30th, 2011, but has a book by date of February 9th, 2011. A full listing of participating Islands, hotels, offer details, terms and conditions can be found online at www.MyOutIslands.com.

Making the recent announcement, Greg Rolle, Chief Aviation specialist for The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism said that, “Over the last few years, The Islands Of The Bahamas have welcomed thousands of private pilots to the tune of millions of dollars in revenue and with this in mind the Instant Savings Promotion is a way of giving back to the private pilots.”

Also commenting on the promotion, Sr. Director, Marketing for The Bahama Out Island Promotion Board, Mrs. Valery Brown-Alce noted that, “it is hoped that this promotion will encourage private pilots to fly to Bahama Out Islands even beyond the more familiar ones such as Exuma, Abaco, and Eleuthera and see more of our Islands.”

The Sr. Director further commented that, among the wide array of resorts offered in the Bahama Out Islands is the Riding Rock Hotel in historically influential San Salvador as well as geographically unique places like Staniel Cay, Exuma where guests can stay at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club - “The objective is to fly and stay at all of these special places and enjoy different experiences.”

Mrs. Alce added that “recent initiatives by the Aviation Department of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism have made it easier to fly there and now the new promotion is making it more affordable.”

The Islands Of The Bahamas is an archipelago of 700 Islands and Cays. Nassau (New Providence) is the capital and Grand Bahama Island, one of the largest, is the second most popular city. The promotion is specifically geared towards the Out Islands of The Bahamas, therefore private pilot flights to Nassau and Grand Bahama are not valid for participation.

Private pilots interested in taking advantage of the Instant Credit Savings offer are invited to visit www.MyOutIslands.com for offer details and then to book directly with their hotel of choice. The participating hotels are already fully prepared to take bookings as well as provide the $300.00 Instant Credit for pilots, their families and friends.

In 2009, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism stepped up its marketing efforts against private pilots and as a result has experienced exponential growth in the area. The most recent private pilot activities to The Bahamas of note, include the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association’s group of some 42 aircraft to Abaco, Bahamas and a group of some 50 general aviators who swarmed various Islands of The Bahamas taking part in a Governor General’s International Air Rally, Caribbean Air Challenge.

“The $300.00 Instant Savings Promotion will serve as a stimulus to continue the momentum of air travel by private pilots to The Islands Of The Bahamas,” Mr. Rolle said, “We are happy to be able to provide this offer.”
