The Bahamas Film & Television Commission and the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Film & Entertainment have agreed in principle to maintain a professional relationships, tapping into each other's network of locations and other resources.

The cooperative effort came about after the two offices collaborated with the College of The Bahamas to present an information forum for Bahamian filmmakers.  Filmmakers and college students learned about filmmaking and technical film training opportunities in the forum that came about as a result of a visit to The Bahamas by Kasim Reed, mayor of Atlanta. Mayor Reed was in The Bahamas at the invitation of the Bahamas government.

The students got a full presentation of the filmmaking scene in Atlanta and the state of Georgia from representatives of the Atlanta Mayor's Office of Film & Entertainment.  LaRonda Sutton, director, and Lorielle Broussard, marketing and communications manager, in the Office of Film & Entertainment, ran down the list of incentives available to filmmakers.
