Officers of the Bahamas Film Commission earned credits toward certification as film commissioners recently while being updated on the latest trends in the administration of film production.

The Ministry of Tourism designated Clarence Rolle and Aulenna Robinson for training through the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). The training conference took place in the form of AFCI’s annual Cineposium, held this year in New York City.

Top film professionals addressed the gathering on various topics, including Set Safety, Using Drones in Filming and Building a Film Tourism Strategy.  Presenters included first assistant director Glen Trotiner (Captain America, Independence Day, The Untouchables) and executive producer of the Batman film franchise, Michael Uslan.

“The information shared at Cineposium was invaluable,” said Rolle.  “It helped to better equip us for the job we do, and gave us insights for some innovations we can introduce in The Bahamas.”

Once film administration professionals accumulate enough credits through AFCI, they are qualified as Certified Film Commissioners.
