MARSH HARBOUR, Abaco
– The
Bahamas Ministry of Tourism welcomed the inaugural Silver Airways flight from
Tampa to Marsh Harbour, Abaco, on Saturday, February 14. Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu,
executives and staff of the Ministry of Tourism, MP for North Abaco Renardo
Curry, Administrator Preston Cunningham, and Silver Airways ground staff
greeted the visitors upon their arrival in Marsh Harbour. Joining them in the official welcome
ceremonies were Tampa International Airport Vice-President of Marketing
Christopher Minner and his wife, Mrs. Andie Minner who arrived on the inaugural
flight.
Silver Airways now offers twice-weekly nonstop
flights between Tampa and Marsh Harbour, on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to the new nonstop service, daily one-stop
connecting flights are available. Silver
is a major provider of routes between Florida and The Bahamas, connecting with
Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay, Governor’s Harbour, North Eleuthera, Freeport,
George Town, and Bimini.
The new route offers ease of travel between Tampa Bay
and the Abacos, a premier boating haven in the region, and of course
facilitates sport fishermen and leisure travelers for whom Abaco is like home
away from home.
