The Bahamas Film and Television Commission
attended the American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles from November 4-9,
201. In 1981, a small group of independent film companies launched a much
needed central meeting at the time to discuss the important issues of the
film and production industry. Some 32 years later that first meeting has
blossomed into the Independent Film and Television Alliance bring together
production people from all over the world.
The American Film Market, is
the largest motion picture trade show in the world. It is attended by buyers
and sellers of film, such as producers, directors, film buyers, executive
producers, distributors and film commissions. The show attracts over 1,000
new films, 400 plus, film screenings, 100 worldwide premieres, 600 distribution
companies, 120 new buyer companies; all assembled in the Film Capital of
the world - Hollywood, California.
The Bahamas Film Commission took meetings
with several television networks which have project in development for
The Bahamas. These and other opportunities will be followed-up.
