Agents Provided Opportunity to Meet with Director General, Joy Jibrilu

Nassau, Bahamas – NACTA (National Association of Career Travel Agents) Presidents and Chapter Directors were hosted to an informational reception by Sandals and The Islands Of The Bahamas at Sandals Royal Bahamian, with opening remarks by Director General of Tourism, Mrs. Joy Jibrilu. Attendees were provided an informal and welcoming platform to network and find out the latest news and achievements in tourism and travel that The Islands Of The Bahamas have achieved thus far in 2015 as well as future projects.

The evening was incredibly important to increase visibility and further cement the relationship with US inbound tourism market for The Islands Of The Bahamas as NACTA, a wholly owned company of ASTA, is the largest association of independent and home based travel entrepreneurs and agents. Their goal is dedicated to providing the finest education, training, networking and representation in support of career travel agents. With tourism and travel increasing in 2015 worldwide, including competition for The Bahamas for the lucrative US market, the event was an important opportunity to build relationships with such a key demographic in securing travel and bookings, and provide the opportunity firsthand of the magic of The Islands and why it is the destination of choice, not just for the Caribbean but the world.

The Director General, Mrs. Jibrilu addressed why The Bahamas is a must see during her remarks, stating, “ Your clients can enjoy, our pristine, white beaches and cerulean seas for a start.. Visitors may also take adventurous day trips, go scuba diving or snorkeling, go hiking or zip-lining, or explore our 700 islands and cays, many of which are blissfully uninhabited. We also have some famous swimming pigs, in the Exumas. We truly believe that we have something for everyone. We’re just about halfway through the year, and we’ve been diligently working not only to leverage our usual offerings, but also to add something extra, to give more texture to the visitor experience in the Islands of The Bahamas, and an added incentive to visit.”

With over 30 senior members of NACTA in attendance, including representatives from Sandals, and members of Ms. Joy Jibrilu’s Tourism team, the evening was a success, and another positive step in cementing 2015 as a landmark year for The Islands Of The Bahamas.
