Baha Men’s newly released music video features the talents of a Bahamian director and an all-Bahamian video crew. Director Lavado Stubbs’ was the creative lead on the music video for Night & Day, which was released on youtube on July 1. The hit song is part of the official 2014 FIFA World Cup CD. Craig Woods, Bahamas Film Commissioner, said the video is another creative work that demonstrates what Bahamians have to offer in film production.
“We’ve been working toward a sustained film industry in The Bahamas, and this again shows that the talent is here to make this happen,” he said. “We have had good success in attracting productions from around the world that bring work to trained industry workers who live here. However, we would love to see many more Hollywood-style Bahamian productions that give Bahamian crews steady work throughout the year.” The Baha Men Vevo video has gathered well over 10,000 views since its July 1 release. Other videos by Stubbs include music videos for Canadian singer Lina Fouro and Bahamian band The Illest. He also produced a Bahamian version of Pharrell Williams’ Happy and a version of OK Go’s I’m Not Through with the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band.
