Nassau, Bahamas - Celeste smith is another young Bahamian poised to make her mark on the tourism industry. A recently graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Smith has returned home with world class experience and numerous awards.

"You have a lot of people coming to The Bahamas just to experience the food. The food itself showcases what The Bahamas really is. When I went to New York a lot of people didn't  know what Guava Duff was, and what Conch Fritter was," said Smith.

The twenty two year old has been interested in culinary arts since childhood. While in high school she won the Young Chef competition and then took part in an apprenticeship program at Atlantis which she feels was responsible for putting her at the top of her class once she got into the Culinary Institute.

Along with her education at the Institute she got the experience to travel to Italy, an experience she said she will never forget.
