Freeport, Bahamas - Little Leaguers from throughout the
region are warming up for one of the most exciting events to hit the Caribbean
baseball circuit, the 2014 Caribbean Little League Regional Baseball Tournament.
After a thirteen year hiatus, the tournament returns Grand Bahama with
ten days of Grand Slam action. Vice President of the Bahamas Baseball Federation,
Mr. Eddie Clarke brought the event to Grand Bahama for a second time to
give The Islands of The Bahamas, the much needed exposure that they truly
deserve. With 200 plus Little Leaguers representing eight Caribbean countries
including: Aruba, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao,
Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands; joined by two
Bahamian teams, representing New Providence and Grand Bahama, the teams
will be competing for an opportunity to qualify for the Little League World
Series.
The Ministry of Tourism and the GBI
Tourism Board are partnering with this event and will host the participants
to a Welcome Reception on the eve of competition. The 2014 Caribbean Little
League Regional Baseball Tournament will be held July
18th-
27th at the Emera Caribbean Baseball park, Freeport, Grand Bahama,
beginning at 11:00am daily.
