Freeport, Grand Bahama - Celebration Cruise Line is reaching its one year anniversary with some very exciting news for Grand Bahama Island. Beginning with the cruise of March 15 out of West Palm Beach, Florida, the Bahamas Celebration will be sailing to Grand Bahama Island every other day. This new cruising venue has a tremendous impact on the economy of Grand Bahama Island. Celebration Cruise Line will be bringing 3,500-4,000 passengers to the island every week. Unlike the large cruise ships that may have passengers visit for the day, Celebration is aggressively marketing to have people stay on the island from two to six nights, resulting in money being spent for hotels, restaurants, stores, taxis and recreational activities. “We are excited that Celebration Cruise Line has changed the itinerary to Grand Bahama Island. What this means for the residents of Grand Bahama Island is they can sail on a modern cruise ship to Florida for all of their business or personal travel. Celebration Cruise Line has a liberal free luggage program and bins will be available for a fee if transporting lots of goods, which may be convenient with a Super Wal-Mart 10 minutes from the port. All cruise passengers will receive a comfortable cabin on the cruise. There are several types of accommodations available, including economical coach cabins, oceanview staterooms and luxurious suites. The Bahamas Celebration has four restaurants, a spacious casino with slots, black jack, roulette, poker, dice and other games of chance, a two-deck nightclub, multiple lounges, a complete spa, a fitness room, three children ’s clubs with age-appropriate electronic games and activities, a pool for adults and a water park with 180-foot slide for children. The cruise also offers a variety of live music and shows. The four dining options include a classic American restaurant, serving five-course meals from a broad menu, Rio ’s international restaurant and a casual Italian restaurant, all as part of the cruise price. For individuals looking for more upscale dining, the elegant and romantic Cove Restaurant is available at an additional cost. The price for one way cruises from Grand Bahama Island will start from $74. On the weeks the ship departs on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday out of Grand Bahama Island, it will depart on Monday, Wednesday and Friday out of Florida. The schedule will reverse the following week with four sailings out Florida, starting on Sunday, and three out of Grand Bahama Island starting on Monday.
