NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Ministry of Transport and Local Government held a 2018/2019 Junior Council Programme Closing Ceremony at SuperClubs Breezes, July 2, 2019.  The Junior Councilors of the programme represented 15 local government districts and 19 schools throughout The Bahamas. Over the past year, the students participated in a variety of community activities on their respective islands including beach clean-up -- adoption and restoration of beaches that house marine ecosystems -- donating food and care packages to underprivileged persons, community beautification projects, and campus-related activities. Pictured at the podium delivering welcome remarks is Acting Director, Department of Local Government Brenda Colebrooke.  (BIS Photos/Kristaan Ingraham).
