Fort Lauderdale, FL - Agents from the New Jersey and New York travel communities crowded venues to experience and enjoy the excitement of "More Bahamas" presentations, spectacularly staged by the New York based team of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, in a series across the tri-city.

Aimed at educating travel agents as well as exposing them to a taste of Bahamian culture, "More Bahamas" was delivered by the team in a Talk Show styled Bahamas presentation from directors chairs, against a Bahamas step and repeat background. Agents were then wowed by the lively and participatory performance of Bahamian entertainer extraordinaire, Julien Believe. The Bahamian artist, who is an international performer and song writer, delighted the agents and involved them with dance steps to the rhythmic and cultural music of The Bahamas, including some of his personal hits.

Starting in New Jersey and then moving to Long Island and Manhattan, New York, the Bahamas Tourism presentations were voted as great "edutainment” events. Travel agents raved about the innovative format. There was dancing, clapping, lifting bags high and waving dinner napkins in the air, throughout the upbeat events, which agents declared an unqualified success. Many of the agents also said of the presentations, "It was the best travel presentation I have attended for the year."

In addition to information on the many new updates in The Bahamas, the ease of travelling to The Bahamas from the East Coast and The Bahamas' preparedness for the winter travel season, agents were feted to a gourmet dinner at each event, and participated in travel games. The highlight of each event, however, was gifts and prizes including the Grand prize trip of a stay at the newly opened Warwick all-inclusive resort, Paradise Island.

The events were a part of The Bahamas Trade and PR Sales Mission to the area and were led by the Bahamas Area Manager, New York, Mikala Moss, assisted by other Bahamas New York based, team members, Chrystal Bethel and Valencia Carroll. The tourism team also included Valery Brown-Alce, Sr. Director of Sales U.S, based in New York; Dupree Smith, District Manager, Houston and Jeannie Gibson, Manager Global Communications, Plantation, Florida.

The series of presentations included Trade Shows that provided for agents to interact with Bahamas partners and vendors. Participants at the various events included The Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, Carmel Churchill, Donna Munroe and Melesia Parker; Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, Rich Chomenski; and representatives of hotels and destination products including Sandals Resorts, Nassau and Exuma; Breezes Resort, Nassau; Forbes Charter, Grand Bahama; Valentine's Resort, Eleuthera; Grand Lucayan Resort, Grand Bahama; Viva Wyndham Resort, Grand Bahama; Delta Airlines and Vacation Express.

The agents in attendance at the events will be added to Bahamas Tourism’s Travel Agent's mailing list to receive a monthly Bahamas Travel Agents Newsletter. The agents were encouraged to visit the newly updated bahamas.com website and also to enroll in the recently unveiled Bahamas Specialist Program.
