FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – Films created by young Bahamian Filmmakers that were featured in FLIFF on Location: Grand Bahama Island last year will be aired during the
8pm – 9pm. slot, on ZNS TV-13 Saturday, February 11th, 2012. Continuing each Saturday, through March 10th.
According to Craig
Woods of the Bahamas Film Commission “We want to encourage Bahamian
filmmaking by putting their productions in front of many viewers as
possible. And we would like to urge all residents to make an appointment
with ZNS TV (Channel 11), this, and every Saturday for the next month,
at 8 PM. You will not want to miss these films made by your young, talented
movie makers.”
Last year’s
‘FLIFF On Location: Grand Bahama Island’, was a joint venture with
the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival in its twenty-sixth year
and the Ministry of Tourism & Aviation and the Grand Bahama Island
Tourism Board. The event attracted more than twenty film producers,
directors, writers and actors to the Pelican Bay Hotel, October 27 –
30. Bahamian films selected for the festival were screened throughout
the entire Saturday [October 29th] of the festival.
The Ministry of Tourism
& Aviation encourages filmmaking in The Bahamas. Bahamian filmmaking
is particularly interesting for us, because it adds a sort of ‘people-to-people’
experience to the process. It creates an opportunity for Bahamians to
express themselves, inviting others to take a glimpse into their personal
world, as well as the physical archipelagic nation, which they call
home.
FLIFF
On Location 2012 is scheduled for October 25 -28th.
