Kidscreen Summit, known as the most important annual event of the children’s entertainment industry, was no child’s play for the Bahamas Film & Television Commission, which promoted several appropriate programs at the gathering.
Bahamas Film Commissioner Craig Woods and the Commission’s senior manager Donna Mackey used the event in Florida to inform top producers about the benefits of filming in The Bahamas. In addition, the team helped promote Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival and the inaugural Widescreen Film & Music Festival (WSF), which is the brainchild of Bahamian filmmaker Jarrod Knowles.
Kidscreen this year featured presentations by representatives of Amazon Studios, Walt Disney Studios, youtube and others.
During the summit, the Bahamas’ team participated in a joint reception with the City of Miami, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and others to host a joint reception with the production company, The Kitchen. The Bahamas Film Commission conducted a publicity activity that ended with the giveaway of a Grand Bahama and Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort trip. The lucky winner will travel to Grand Bahama aboard Bahamasair.
