FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Goombay Summer Festival will once again be held at Taino Beach, and
run for five weeks, July 2-30, the Ministry of Tourism announced during a press
conference on Monday.
The Junkanoo
Summer Festival will then begin on Fridays, July 31 and run through August
21 at Sunset Village, in Eight Mile Rock. Included in the festivities will be West End,
where the festival will be held on Saturdays, from August 1 to 22.
She said, “Attendees can enjoy the best of the west,
with Eight Mile Rock’s signature Fish Fry experience and the nostalgia of the
West End Move.”
The entire summer festival, she said, will be a
“massive fusion of Junkanoo rush outs and cultural expression for the entire
family.”
