“We are extremely excited about the 2013
FLIFF event and wanted to get students hyped about participating,” Clarke
stated. “Over the past two years we’ve seen a tremendous amount of talent
displayed by young persons throughout the country; we want to continue to
encourage them,” she expressed. “The Bahamas has produced world-class athletes,
musicians and artists, etc. Who’s to say, perhaps through the film festival
initiative, we can inspire more great talent like Martin Campbell, director of
Casino Royale, and Gore Verbinski, director of Pirates of The Caribbean.”
FLIFF takes place on Grand Bahama Island
beginning October 31 - November 2. Judging of original Bahamian films will be
measured in three categories, namely: High School, College and Open Films.

screenings, a Lifetime Achievement Award, film specialist workshops, an island
locations familiarization tour for visiting filmmakers, and an awards and wrap
