Freeport, Grand Bahama - The significant increase in
sea arrivals has created additional opportunities for members of the ground
transportation sector, with an additional percentage increase expected for the
year 2012.
Therefore, all stakeholders in
partnership with the Ministry of Tourism are required to work together to
closely monitor the visitor experience for the duration of their stay. And based
on exit surveys and customer comments, the Ministry of Tourism & Aviation
is cognizant of the urgent need for Grand Bahama tourism professionals to develop
and maintain sustainable customer service techniques, that result in satisfying
vacation experiences.
The new Bahamahost Programme has been redesigned to establish a culture of service
excellence and professionalism, which results in delightful guest experiences,
repeat business and global recognition.
Completion of the Bahamahost Program is mandatory for Public Service Drivers,
Water Sports Operators, Beach Vendors and Hair Braiders. Last month the
graduation ceremony was held for the approximately 330 participants in the
program for 2011. The categories of service included: Public Service Drivers,
Police Officers, and retail vendors from Port Lucaya Marketplace.
