NEW YORK, NY -- The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism launched their latest campaign this past week featuring singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz and his hit song, "Fly Away" which has become the Islands of The Bahamas new slogan.

Kravitz, whose mother is of Bahamian descent, spends about half of his time living in and recording his music on the island of Eleuthera.

The campaign featuring a colourful music video was announced with Hon. Dionisio D’Aguilar, Minister of Tourism and Aviation on hand. Kravitz was gifted with a portrait done by Jamaal Rolle, also known as 'The Celebrity Artist' which was co-presented by Joy Jibriiu, Director General of Tourism.

"It's an honour to be representing my country," said Kravitz.

In 2015 Kravitz partnered with GLO Good Foundation to put on free dental clinics, and they've been operating the clinic annually ever since.  Speaking about his Eleuthera home he said, "It's the place I go to be a human being."

During the campaign launch event, Kravitz was asked if there were for him to perform in the islands.

“Good idea,” said Kravitz. “I have never played a real concert in The Bahamas.”
