Love That Child - A Music and Dance Benefit Concert for The Ranfurly Home for Children

Pennsylvania - The Lang Performing Arts Center at Swarthmore College was the stage for Love That Child Benefit Concert, in Philadelphia, on Sunday, January 9th, 2011.

The cast from last summer teen film Standing Ovation was on hand to add their special touch to the show. Other acts included: Bahamian veteran performer Funky D, and Danielle Dean from Chelsea's Choice School for The Performing Arts; in addition to Miss Patty's All Star Dance Center, Cathy Collins School of Dance, 76ers Pre-Pro Dance Team, Wayne Ballet, Orlandi Dance Center, American Dance Academy, Touch of Class Studio, Nancy Mulford Dance Studio and L&L Sterling One Dance Company. The event was supported by all of the dance studios and schools in the surrounding towns of Swarthmore.

Bahamian
Damian Davis, who is considered the poster child for The Ranfurly Home for Children sang his signature song, "Love That Child" which we wrote and arranged. Damian is a former foster child of Ranfurly who graduated college, and now works for Atlantis and supervises a staff of 30 persons.

His Excellency, Cornelius Smith, Ambassador to the United States was in attendance, in addition to a number of Bahamians from the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Over 700 patrons who jammed the Lang Performing Arts Center were treated to a fabulous evening of great entertainment. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Ranfurly Home.

The producers of Kenilworth Films have shot two films in Eleuthera, in 2004 Three starring Billy Zane, Kelly Brooke and Juan Pablo DePace and in 2007 Mysteries starring James Brolin and Antonio Sabato, Jr. The film commission is discussing with Kenilworth future film projects.
