In an effort to continue the movement of young musicians in the country, the Musicians, Artists and Vocalists showcase better known as MAVS will be staging a Christmas Festival in Pompey Square on December 21.

MAVS is an organized committee made up of five young men who seek to give young Bahamians a platform to feature their musical and artistic talents.

Earlier this year, MAVS hosted its inaugural event at Fort Charlotte, which drew a crowd of more than 250 people.

The event featured 15 performers and organizers are hoping for a greater turnout.

The Ministry of Tourism proudly sponsors the Christmas Festival.

Vice President of MAVS Clifford Adderley spoke about the hopes for the Christmas Festival.

“On the heels of its explosive inaugural Summer Festival in August, it is indeed exciting times for the team of MAVS to showcase young, talented Musicians, Artists and Vocalists at this year's Christmas Festival,” Adderley said.

“We are glad to have the Ministry of Tourism as our platinum sponsor along with other phenomenal sponsors as such Three Amigos Media & BahaBar. We look forward to bringing Pompey Square to life with live Christmas music and the ambiance coming from the Christmas spirit.”

MAVS is a non-profit organization that helps participants with exposure. There is no charge to participate in the event and admission is always free.

To participate, persons are asked to post a video of themselves performing to the MAVS Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MusiciansArtistsVocalistsShowcase.
