Prepares For Dan Marino And Friends Weekend 2015

Miami, Florida – The Ministry of Tourism further cemented its relationship with the Miami Dolphins recently as officials sponsored a week of events with the football team as they honoured one of its own.

The Ministry of Tourism was a major sponsor of the Miami Dolphins association as they honored Manny Fernandez, who played in three Miami Dolphins Superbowls.

He is now in the Miami Dolphins’ Hall of Fame.

Events included an opening ceremony, golf tournaments, a Miami Dolphins cocktail party and ended with game at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.

At that game, Dolphins won over the Minnesota Vikings 37- 35.

Officials also used the opportunity to promote Dan Marino and Friends 2015 and the Bahamas Carnival scheduled for May 7-9, 2015.

At each event, The Bahamas’ presence was known as Carnival models showed off their eye catching costumes.

At the Sun Life Stadium the Bahamas Bash room came to life as hundreds passed the ministry’s booth to register their names for a free trip to The Bahamas.

The Bahamas was hard to ignore as pictures of The Bahamas were wrapped around the room where fans came to eat.

They also played the Bahamas Bash game where they spun a wheel to win prizes like shirts, bags and notebooks all branded with The Bahamas’ logo.

Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe said it is partnerships that give the country’s tourism product a new dynamic.

“It is a wonderful partnership and I see that the Carnival models are being well-received here. They are not just looking at the beautiful costumes and girls but they are wanted to associate themselves with The Bahamas,” he said.

“We also need these partnerships to continue to cause for people to continue to come to The Bahamas. These partnerships are mutually beneficial and we hope to continue them for many years to come.”

Donna Ash, assistant manager in Sports Tourism, also spoke about the importance of The Bahamas Bash room.

“The Bahamas Bash area was set up for all of the Dolphin’s home games. The Bahamas Tourism Office has a partnership with the Miami Dolphins,” she said.

“When fans come out to eat they will come to The Bahamas Bash area. They can register to win a trip to The Bahamas and sometimes they can get a free flight on Bahamasair or they can get tickets on Resorts World or on Balearia. The response has been phenomenal.”

Many fans got excited and said they were ready to come to The Bahamas.

“It’s exciting. It’s cool, it’s fun. Hopefully I get a chance to come to The Bahamas. This area makes me want to go to The Bahamas. Who doesn’t want to go to The Bahamas,” said Sherry Williams of California.

Mark Jones of Ft. Lauderdale was happy to win a Bahamas Carnival CD.

“I just took a vacation there to Nassau. I’m going to listen to it on the way home,” he said.
