Nassau, Bahamas - The Ministry of Tourism is pleased to report that the dive vessel that was reported missing yesterday, has been located, and that the eleven persons on board are safe.

The boat was captained by its owner Anton Laing, of Island Life Tours, and the party included visitors from France, Germany, Italy and Canada, as well as two Wyndham employees.

It is our understanding that the excursion left Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach resort at 6am, and later arrived safely at West End. The party switched boats and continued on to Tiger Beach. At 5pm they were seen heading back to West End; however, they were observed by other boaters to be travelling slowly.

The Florida Coast Guard was alerted and subsequently located the boat by helicopter. All aboard were found to be safe. The family and friends of those on board have been briefed.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Florida Coast Guard, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association, the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the marine and port agencies of Grand Bahama Island, and all other agencies and personnel that assisted the search and rescue efforts.
