Florida-based tourism employees readied for Bahamas referendum and general elections

PLANTATION, Fl. – The Parliamentary Commissioner in the Parliamentary Registration Department, Rev. Sherlyn Hall recently met with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism employees in Plantation, Florida in preparation and registration for the upcoming gender equality referendum and general election.

Rev. Hall updated the staff on the details pertaining to the four constitutional amendment bills proposed for gender equality, voter registration requirements, J Form Application process, general election policies and voting procedures relative to Bahamian citizens employed by The Bahamas government in its overseas offices, inclusive of staff of the Bahamas Consulate, Mission and Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

The majority of the Ministry’s staff took advantage of the time to register for the upcoming referendum, which closed on May 20, 2016 as well as the upcoming general election.  The staff will be able to vote via advanced poll on May 31, 2016 and general voting is set for June 7, 2016.
