Nassau, Bahamas - Tourism officials and Bahamian performers banded together in a grand celebration of the life and career of John Berkley “Peanuts” Taylor.
On the occasion of Mr. Taylor’s 75th birthday, his colleagues and friends threw a birthday bash and concert for him at Indigo Restaurant, Cable Beach. The event featured performances by accomplished musicians, including Priscilla Rollins.
While making a special presentation to Mr. Taylor, Ministry of Tourism and Aviation representative Basil Smith said Peanuts Taylor is a Bahamian icon and a legend. He credited Mr. Taylor for pioneering Bahamian performance art in a special way.
Mr. Smith is pictured presenting a photo to Mr. Taylor, which shows him at his Drumbeat Club with Mod Squad star Clarence Williams III.
