Nassau, Bahamas – Bahamian hand made swim wear is about to make a splash on the local and international fashion scene as Pisces Swimwear makes its official debut this weekend.

The fashion event to be held at Mario’s Bowling Alley will display the timeless pieces of Jamaal Ferguson who says the goal of the company is to embrace creativity, cultivate innovation and revolutionize the fashion industry of The Islands Of The Bahamas.

“The life energy that flows through Pisces Swim radiates within the vivid colors and textures that authenticate the essence of the Bahamian Islands,” he said.

“The line pays homage to its culture, narrating the lifestyle of the people and unveils the beauty behind the 700 islands and cays of The Bahamas. Our design highlights your appreciation for the finer things in life, with a passionate team that will produce the world’s finest swimwear with our commitment to excellence in every style, stitch and pattern.”

The Pisces Swim Fashion Show will feature 23 Bahamian models.

Ferguson says he hopes that Bahamians support this budding venture.

“I am hoping the fashion show will show and prove to Bahamians that there are numerous talented entrepreneurs who are passionate, focused and game changers in the fashion industry locally and internationally,” he said.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation is one of the sponsors of the show.

The Ministry’s Director of Events Charity Armbrister said it is one of the goals of the Ministry to support Bahamian entrepreneurs.

“This gives a new dynamic to the tourism industry because it is a piece of The Islands  Of The Bahamas that tourists can take with them,” she said.

“We are hoping that the products will not only be successful in The Bahamas but throughout the world.”

Ferguson will take the swimwear to New York, to the annual Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Caribbean Week June 2-8.

He said he has plans to showcase The Islands Of The Bahamas to the world.

“Our goal at Caribbean Week is to put The Bahamas on the map in the swimwear fashion industry and to connect with numerous clients, vendors and suppliers.  This networking event will spark interest in all of our items that are manufactured in The Bahamas,” he said.

Tickets for Pisces Swim Fashion Show are available at The Counsellors Ltd., Pepper and Spice and Mario’s Bowling Alley.
