The Bahamas to showcase at Annual Tom Joyner Family Reunion

Bahamas Ministry of Tourism to exhibit at the Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion Convention and Expo in Orlando, Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL  – The Islands Of The Bahamas will once again be one of  the featured booths at the annual Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion(ATJFR) scheduled to take place this Labor Day weekend, August 30 – September 3, at the Gaylord Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation will be located in booth 808, as a part of what is being touted as “The Supersize Family Expo” of the well-attended event which is now in its 16th year as a major African-American Convention and Expo said to attract more than 50,000 family members of all ages each year.

The Bahamas was a part of the 2016 ATJFR and at this year’s event, will be joined in its booth by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, out of Palm Beach Florida.  The Cruise Line features daily two day cruises to Freeport, Grand Bahama, out of the Port of Palm Beach.

At its booth The Bahamas will have much to share with Expo attendees, including the many updates and developments taking place in the Island destination, and the history, culture, fun, excitement and adventure of a Bahamian vacation

The Expo will feature some 150 booths with a number of zones, including a College and Community Zone; a Kids and Teen Zone; an Art and Culture Zone, an Entertainment Zone, a Retail Zone and many more.  The Convention is a registered event, however, the Expo section will be free to the public.

Other elements of the multigenerational Family Reunion, fun weekend convention will include concerts, such as the Kickoff Party and Concert the first night, with Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. There will be College Day Seminar/Performances;  Kids Night Out, Teen Party, daily after-parties and late night comedy. Weekend highlights will include a Bahamas sponsored ‘Party in da Backyard’ pool party; a Saturday evening Concert and a Sunday “Gospel Explosion.”

In addition to Maze, the Star line up for the weekend will also include Rickie Smiley and Bell Biv Devoe (BBD), Erica Campbell, Jaheim, Smokie Norful, Isaiah Templeton Marsha Ambrosius, Raheem Devaughn, Algee Smith, Andy Stokes and Riva Tims.

The Allstate Family Expo will be opened to the public daily:

Friday -  8 am to 7 pm

Saturday - 9 am to 7 pm

Sunday - noon to 6 pm
