Veteran Bahamas Tourism Professional receives ‘Supplier of The Year’ Award from National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Veteran Bahamas Tourism executive, Linville Johnson, received a prestigious, “Supplier of the Year” Award from the National

Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP) during their recent annual conference in New Orleans, LA.

Johnson, who has been in the sales and marketing industry with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) for well over 30 years, was honored at the organization’s annual conference held under the theme, “Elevate, Educate and Engage.”

The award from the NCBMP is Johnson’s second in recent months.  He was honored in July of this year with an Apex Award presented by Black Meetings and Tourism Magazine at the annual gala of the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) and the International Multicultural and Heritage Summit and Trade Show.

Currently responsible for the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation’s Multi-Cultural and Religious Groups market, Johnson’s distinguished career with BMOTA began in Nassau, Bahamas.  Over the years, he has been appointed by Bahamas Tourism to managerial positions across major U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Miami/Fort Lauderdale.

The National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners is one of many large groups and organizations that the Senior Executive has worked with over the years in promoting tourism to The Islands Of The Bahamas. Some of the other major organizations Johnson has worked with closely over the years include Black Enterprise, The National Urban League, the NAACP, National Black Caucus and The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB).

Highlights of the annual conference of the NCBMP include educational sessions that feature industry experts covering topics relevant to the group.  Topics at this year’s conference included, “Hospitality Trends, Triumphs and Trials from Iconic Trail Blazers: A Candid Conversation Between Two CEO Game Changers,” also “How to Strategically Navigate the Challenges of Booking Diversity Business While Elevating Your Career When There’s Uncertainty and Change Within Your Environment,” and “What’s Hot! The Industry is Changing in Technology, Cannatourism, Alternate Lodging and Transportation.  Where Do You Stand?”

Founded in 1983 and dedicated primarily to the training needs of African American meeting planners, the NCBMP is currently headed by its chairman, Frederick M Bell of Aeoanms and President, Marlinda Henry of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Atlanta, GA.
