Prime Minister the Rt Hon Hubert Ingraham will bring opening remarks at the conference, which begins on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Bahamas International Maritime Conference and Trade Show (BIMCATS) 2010 results from collaboration of the Ministry of The Environment and Bahamas Maritime Authority with public and private sector partners. 

Under the theme ‘The Maritime Sector and the Environment’, we aim:

• to highlight how sustainable maritime policy development and technological advances offset environmental degradation;
• to stimulate interest in the many world class maritime services offered in The Bahamas; and
• to encourage leading shipping companies to consider registering their vessels on the Bahamian Ship Register.
