Nassau, Bahamas - The Nassau Chamber Ensemble (NCE) presents an afternoon of Baroque, Classical and Romantic Music to be held at the Bahamas Historical Society on Sunday, 20th November 2011 at 3pm.
The Nassau Chamber Ensemble is an 11-member string ensemble comprised of 5 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 1 double bass and a harpsichord, which had its debut concert in March of 2011 at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. Their debut concert was well attended and well received. Since then, the ensemble has been busying itself preparing for its second concert. To this end, NCE has increased the number of rehearsals and hired a professional tutor whose main focus is to coach the ensemble on instrument techniques, dynamics, tone and texture.
The progamme will feature an oboe soloist and highlight such composers as Manfredini, Beethoven, Brahms and Morricone – just to name a few.
A venue change was necessary to accommodate the number of expected guests. Although this venue is much larger, it still provides the same desired atmosphere of “chamber intimacy.”
As seating is limited, NCE asks that those who are interested in attending this concert, please purchase tickets in advance of the date of the concert.
Tickets are on sale now at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday / 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Ticket price: Adults - $20.00, and for Students with ID - $10.00. Contact: Ms. Luann Morris at 328-5800/1 or email lmorris@nagb.org.bs. The public is invited to attend what promises to be a delightful event. Refreshments will be served.
