Atlantis SVP of Public Affairs & Retail Ed Fields accepts life-size print of commemorative stamp featuring Atlantis. He is pictured with Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe and other Tourism and Government officials.

PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas  - A commemorative stamp featuring Atlantis, Paradise Island was recently publicly unveiled during a brief ceremony at Pompey Square in Downtown Nassau. The Atlantis stamp is just one in a series which was developed by the General Post Office this year to mark The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism¹s 50th Year of Tourism and to highlight the importance of the tourism industry to the overall development and advancement of The Bahamas.

On hand to accept a custom printed and framed version of the stamp, which features the iconic Royal Towers, Atlantis 20th anniversary logo and the Ministry of Tourism¹s 50th anniversary logo, was Atlantis SVP of Public Affairs and Retail, Ed Fields. Fields shared resort executives pride for the occasion.

Atlantis, Paradise Island is delighted to help mark the 50th anniversary of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and we are equally honoured to have been a part of such an admirable salute to the nation¹s bread and butter industry. Tourism has played an invaluable role in the successes this nation has achieved over the years and we are truly grateful that we can say Atlantis had a hand in that. As we continue to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we reflect on the many successes us at Atlantis can and do proudly boast of, said Fields.

Over the past 20 years Atlantis has invested more than $2.5 billion to create a product that has helped to raise the world profile of The Bahamas. It has also increased its room count from approximately 1,100 in

1994 to approximately 4,000 today. The resort has grown the Bahamian workforce from approximately 1,200 employees in 1994 to nearly 8,000 full-time employees and contributes significantly to the country¹s GDP.

Fields added that as the Ministry of Tourism celebrates 50 years and as Atlantis, Paradise Island closes out its 20th year and looks to the future, the mega-resort property¹s commitment to growing and fueling the economy and its partnership for a better Bahamas remain high among its priorities. ...As it was THEN as it is NOW and as it will be ALWAYS, said Fields.
