Nassau, The Bahamas. September 26, 2016. The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC) officially opened the doors to its first Creole store this evening.

“We are proud to join hands with the Haitian community as we open our first Creole store today. We believe that this is just another gesture that demonstrates our commitment to customer service and to the Haitian community,” said CEO, Leon Williams.

The niche store will be staffed by four bi-lingual team members. Customers will have the option of being assisted in English or Creole.

Franchise store owner, Mr. Robert Dieudonne commented noting that, “The Haitian community is pleased about the stance that BTC has taken relative to the Haitian community. We have been partners for decades now, this store only seeks to solidify the relationship we have enjoyed for years. Now customers that may have experienced difficulties fully conversing in English, will have an option to be served in Creole. We invite our customers to come and experience this store – we promise the ultimate experience in customer satisfaction.”

In the upcoming weeks, BTC intends to extend special services to other diaspora markets resident in the country. BTC now has twenty-eight franchise stores across the country. The company has been an avid supporter of the Haitian community for some time now. BTC has sponsored many events and activities, namely Haitian Flag Day since 2002, the Haiti vs. Jamaica Soccer Match earlier this summer and the Caribana Music Festival just last weekend. BTC has also invested over $6.5m in the BHi initiative which sought to provide telecommunications services to Haiti in 2005.
