Bahamian-American Educational Partnerships Discussed

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires John Dinkelman and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission John Armstrong meet with President of Saint John’s University Michael Hemesath and other senior administrators along with Mr. Philip C. Galanis, President of The Bahamas’ Chapter of St. John’s University’s Alumni Association.

Nassau, Bahamas - President of Saint John’s University Michael Hemesath and other senior administrators paid a courtesy call on U.S. Chargé d’Affaires John Dinkelman and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission John Armstrong on January 24, 2014. They were joined by Mr. Philip C. Galanis, President of The Bahamas’ Chapter of St. John’s University’s Alumni Association and the U.S. Embassy’s Education and Cultural Specialist Myra M. McPhee.  

During the call they discussed the value of Bahamian students studying in the United States and the various programs St. John’s University has in place to support current Bahamian students and alumni. There are currently more than 50 Bahamians students studying at St. John’s and its sister institution, The College of Saint Benedict. Saint John's University is located in Collegeville, Minnesota, USA.
