In a move to help Grand Bahamians who have suffered so much devastation in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew get connected to family, friends and loved ones, Cable Bahamas has activated a free WiFi hotspot at its main office on East Atlantic Drive in Freeport.

The hotspot is available to the general public and offers unlimited, 24-hour access to the Internet.

“As a company we’ve taken into consideration the heavy reliance that we all have on Internet services,” Cable Bahamas Director for the Northern Bahamas Edris Wilson-Elliot said. “Quite a number of our customers have been visiting our premises trying to get Internet access to connect with loved ones and to do their everyday business. We know that there’s an immense need right now for everyone to be able to communicate with families and friends, so we wanted to be able to provide this service for the community.”

The communications company encourages the residents of Grand Bahama to take advantage of the service, which will be provided for an indefinite period of time.

“Residents can access our WiFi hotspot from the parking lot or as far away as RND Plaza,” Mrs Wilson-Elliot said. “There’s a whole lot of flexibility with the range and the access to the service, you don’t have to be in the building. The distance is quite extensive to make it even more convenient for people in the area. So if you need Internet access, come on down, log in to REV-FREE-WiFi and stay in contact with your loved ones.”
