Nassau, Bahamas - In The College of The Bahamas’ mission, and what will be a part of the mission of the University of The Bahamas, is the simple, truthful sentence that “The University's mission is to serve the nation, its citizens and indeed the world.” In this service to our country and its people, we always extend fairness and equality, never seeking to discriminate on any basis. Therefore, The College of The Bahamas is in full support of the June 7th referendum, which seeks to make women and men equal, under the law. The College of The Bahamas is in full support of equal rights for women and The College supports all four amendments.

Our mission also states that the College will “support and drive national development.” The four proposed amendments to the constitution are an effort to bring about positive national development, by granting equal rights for women and men. We recognize that the journey towards equality is not one for women alone. Both men and women must play a role in advocating for and promoting equality.
