Nassau, Bahamas - Doctors Hospital Health System today announced that Barry Rassin will step down as President of Doctors Hospital Health System, but will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors and assume a new role as Consultant to the Board effective May 2, 2016.

In his new post, Mr. Rassin will continue to play an active role in the International Patient Program as well as on special projects.

Doctors Hospital Chief Executive Officer Charles Sealy will assume full day to day oversight of Bahamas Medical Center and the various programs housed at the Blake Road facility.

“The Board thanks Barry for his tireless commitment to Doctors Hospital and Bahamas Medical Center over the past 37 years. He has been an integral part of the leadership team for the hospital first built by his father Dr Meyer Rassin. It was under his leadership that the organization transitioned from the small, privately owned Rassin Hospital to the internationally accredited, publicly traded premier private hospital that it is today,” said Doctors Hospital Health System Chairman Joe Krukowski.

“It has been a labour of love as the Doctors Hospital Team worked together to bring modern medical technology, service and quality to The Bahamas. Now is the time to broaden my activities and provide greater service to the world community by taking on new roles with Rotary International, including assisting the President of Rotary International and being a Trustee of the Rotary Foundation,” Mr Rassin said.
