a statement in Grand Bahama, regarding
the degraded behavior of two Attorneys, who are Senior Officials of the
Attorney General Office in New Providence.

The Courts in the Bahamas, must be
respected. The Bahamian Public must know, that the Judiciary is Independent,
and no Officer of the Courts should be above the
LAW.
-
The public must know, that the
Supreme Court, be seen as a place, for
Justice in our Nation, and not to be disrespected, by officers of the Courts,
or any member of the public . On April
03, 2014 Members of our Organization,
got the shock of there life’s

After the Supreme Court Ruling,
Members of the Attorney General Office, proceeded to take matters in there own
hands, By allowing Police witnesses who were on duty, to give oral evidence before the Assistant Deputy Registrar.
-
The Assistant Deputy Registrar,
informed the Attorney General Officials, that today’s proceedings is for Assessments for Damages, but was
allowed to Proceed with the testimonies of the Police Witnesses. The Testimony
lasted about (4) hours.
-
The families for Justice
Organization contact there legal team,
and inquires were made. The information given by the legal team was Shocking.
A Police Officer was flown in from Sal
Salvador to testify, Senior Police Officials were Pulled from there duties to
Testify. And the Assistant Deputy Registrar was not aware, that those witnesses
were schedule before the Registrar Chambers for hearing. No application for the
witnesses were before the Registrar, or the Courts to appear.
-
This action by the Attorney General
Office was a clear abuse of the process of the Courts. And a waste of the tax’s
payers money. Our Organization is calling, for Accountability By the Attorney
General and Minister of Legal Affairs, for taking on duty Police Officer’s off
there jobs, to testify in a Assessment
hearing, in order for the Attorney General Office to contest the Justice of the
Supreme Court Order, after the Attorney General admitted to Liability before the Courts. Those Officers of
the Court from the Attorney General
Office should be terminated for there part involving these Corrupted
practices In the Grand Bahama Courts.
The
Attorney General Officials, paid
no attention to the Supreme Court
Justice Order.
And publicly disrespected the Supreme Court and its rules. This action,
is unacceptable
In our society, and needs to be address immediately.

President
Rev. Glenroy Bethel
