Nassau, Bahamas - In February – the month of love – thousands of couples around the globe will pause to celebrate all the ways they cherish their significant others and thousands more will take the plunge into marital bliss. For many of those very couples however, matrimonial money matters threaten to end their happily ever after prematurely. According to a 2015 financial study, money can be a huge source of conflict in marriage with more than eight hundred thousand of the two million annual marriages ending in divorce because of it.

Enter financial advisor Nathaniel Butler who, alongside his wife Ashley, and their collaborative partner, relationship psychologist Harrison Thompson. Together, they’re are hoping to give local couples a fighting chance with a special event designed to help couples work on their financial fitness.

“I’ve found that while couples often tackle sensitive issues, like religious beliefs, political views and even children very early on, many persons never have a real conversation with their partners about their attitudes toward money and spending” explained Butler.
