Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) and Port Group Limited (PGL) today announced the resignation of Vice President of both companies, Ginger M. Moxey, who will be leaving the Group to pursue other personal interests, effective 1st June 2014.

“I am so proud to have been a part of the GBPA Family for almost 28 years. This relationship has created many moments of personal achievement and fulfillment, for which I am grateful. My greatest moments, throughout this journey, were those that involved impacting lives in a positive way,” shared Moxey. “The philosophy, by which I live… ‘We should all be helping others’, has caused me to pursue my passion for our people, our culture, our communities, and our experiences, through community development initiatives,” she further stated.

GBPA President, Ian Rolle praised Moxey for her dedicated service to the Group. “It is with sadness that we officially announce today’s resignation. She has been an integral component in the fulfillment of the company’s mission ‘to better the lives of the Grand Bahama community,” Rolle expressed. “The greatest moments during Ginger’s tenure were realized when opportunities became available to illustrate the ‘heart’ of GBPA for those in need. She aptly defined and promulgated our role as a leading contributor towards community development.”

Offering similar sentiments GBPA Vice Chairman, Sarah St. George said, “Ginger’s keen intellect and attention to detail, superb organizational skills and natural gift for administration made her an invaluable member of the Executive Team,” she added. “My father always held her in the highest regard; we all do, and we are truly indebted to her for her conscientiousness and often long hours on behalf of each of our employees and the greater Grand Bahama community. We wish her great success and joy in her new endeavour, and we are definitely going to miss her hugely, although I am happy to say we shall still see and work closely with Ginger going forward in her new role. I look forward to that with all its new exciting prospects.”

Moxey served as the Vice President of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited and Port Group Limited from March 2009 with responsibility for corporate relations and administration, community relations, employee relations, public relations/marketing, business and government relations.

Moxey is a home-grown Grand Bahamian, born and raised in Eight Mile Rock. She is a 6-year Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) scholarship recipient, and has been a summer student with the GBPA Group since the age of twelve.

In 1999, Ginger permanently joined the Freeport Harbour Company Limited, and later moved to GBPA where she quickly advanced to several supervisory and management positions: Marketing Officer, Manager of Public Relations and Marketing and Director of Business Development, Public Relations & Marketing, and Senior Director of Corporate Relations & Administration for the Group.

The shareholders, directors, management, and staff applaud Ginger for her tireless, unwavering efforts and her dedication and commitment to the Group of Companies, the City of Freeport, and Grand Bahama Island. Ginger will serve as a consultant, as the Group continues to better the lives in the Grand Bahama community, and by extension, The Bahamas.
