Inaugural Launch Reception held for the Bahamas’ Restructuring and Insolvency Association

Nassau, Bahamas - The Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association (Bahamas) (“RISA Bahamas”) held its launch event on Thursday 24 May 2018 at the Royal Blue Golf Club, Baha Mar.  In attendance were approximately 50 guests comprising members of the Judiciary, Queen’s Counsel, Certified Financial Analysts, Accountants and Attorneys represented from The Bahamas’ leading institutions, accountancy, and law firms.

Welcoming remarks were given by the Founding Directors of RISA who noted that the organization which has already established similar chapters in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, BVI as well as the United States amongst others is a first of its kind here in this jurisdiction.  The goal of the Association is to bring together thought leaders and those with experience in insolvency and restructuring to assist in facilitating legislative reform, committees for educational seminars, hosting of international conferences and other networking events.

The event was sponsored by Lennox Paton, KPMG and Ernst & Young.  The Founding Directors of RISA are Zelma Wilson (KPMG), Igal Wizman (EY) and Sophia Rolle-Kapousouzoglou (Lennox Paton).
