Bahamas Labour Minister Meets With Deputy Director for International Organization for Migration

Nassau, Bahamas - The Deputy Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Ambassador Laura Thompson paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Labour, National Insurance and the Public Service, the Honourable D. Shane Gibson on Monday, 17th November, 2014. The two discussed a wide range of topics including labour matters and the challenges of illegal migration.

Also in attendance were Mr. Marco Rolle, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance, and Mr. Robert Farquharson, Director of Labour. Ambassador Thompson was accompanied by Ms. Agueda Marin. This marked Ambassador Thompson's first visit to The Bahamas. While here, she is also expected to call on the Honourable Fred Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration as well as Senator the Honourable Allyson Maynard-Gibson, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs.
