Miss Universe Organization announces plans for preparedness of Miss Bahamas Universe for the Miss Universe Pageant

Nassau, Bahamas - The Miss Bahamas Universe Organization led by director and franchise holder, Mrs. Gaynell Rolle-Stubbs called a press conference on Friday, June 19th to introduce "Team 242",  Miss Bahamas 2009 Kiara Sherman's victory team to The Bahamas. The press conference was held in the Flamingo Boardroom of the Wyndham Resort, Cable Beach. Miss Krystal Brown, an employee in the Human Resources Department. of the British Colonial Hilton was also presented to the press as the newly elected Miss Earth Bahamas 2009. She was Miss San Salvador in the recently held pageant and replaces Ife Bethel-Sears, who resigned for personal reasons. Miss Brown will represent The Bahamas at Miss Earth to be held in the Philippines in October.

First to be introduced was Mr. Shawn Forbes, a Sr. VP of Pictet Bank & Trust Ltd. Described by Mrs. Rolle-Stubbs as an avid writer, Mr. Forbes has published 2 novels and has been entrusted with the responsibility of grooming Miss Sherman and he will be assisting her with speech, interviewing techniques, knowledge of local and international issues and overall general deportment.

Forbes will be assisted by Lady Patrice Ellis, a certified etiquette and personal consultant. Dr. Renee Johnson will be responsible for "fine tuning" the beauty queen in her capacity as a certified beauty consultant and cosmetologist and she will be responsible for Miss Sherman's new image, hair, nail and facial appearance for the entire year. Dr. Johnson will be assisted by Dr. Derwin Munroe, dentist. Mr. & Mrs. Derek Bullard of Mystical Gym, Palmdale, assisted by a personal trainer will be responsible for the physical toning of Miss Sherman and have already devised a rigorous workout schedule for her.

Mr. Olin Sha Coakley, who has dedicated his life to the development of young Bahamians will be working on a regular routine with Sherman to develop her look, catwalk skills, modeling and posing for the camera. Percy Wallace, an internationally renowned fashion designer will be responsible for coordinating the wardrobe of Miss Bahamas and is calling on all Bahamian fashion designers who are interested in showcasing their design to Miss Bahamas' 23 days of Fashion Display" to submit their ideas.

Wallace will be assisted by Cedric Barnard, Patrice Lockhart and Anita Rolle. Dennis Chisolm, a former director of security or the Four Seasons resort was introduced as Chief Protocol and Security Director for Miss Bahamas. Monique Bonaby, Shireen McPhee, Chapella Rolle and Olive Dixon were named as chaperones and Clint Watson, veteran broadcaster, director of public relations. Rounding off the list was Corine "Mother" Rolle," identified as a prayer warrior for Miss Sherman.

Miss Sherman also addressed the press, thanking everyone who had supported her during some troubling times for her and asked for the continuing support of the Bahamian people as she represents The Bahamas at the historic 2009 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant scheduled to be held Sunday, August 23rd at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island.
