New Shoes and Pedicures for Nassau's Surrey Horses

Nassau, Bahamas - Today, January 10th Chris & Kelly Gregory, farriers both (horse shoers from the mid-west) are in Nassau and have trained the surrey horse drivers in new techniques of shoeing.

This is a joint collaboration between the Ministries of Tourism & Transport and it has not only brought relief to the horses and their feet but it has also generating a lot of good will among stakeholders at Festival Place who were fascinated watching the entire process as the couple worked on all of the horses and a few of the drivers took a turn and sharpened their skills.

When the shoes are properly applied, the horses walk properly. When the horse shoe is the wrong size, or the nails are incorrectly inserted, the horse can be crippled, limp badly and can develop an infection. Our surrey horses are working horses and it is so important that their feet are well taken care of.

This is only the beginning.
