Nassau, Bahamas - The new Charge d' Affaires at the United States Embassy, Ms. Lisa Johnson made a courtesy call on The Minister of Labour, National Insurance and the Public Service, the Honourable D. Shane Gibson on Friday, 25thJuly 2014. While welcoming Ms. Johnson to The Bahamas, Minister Gibson noted that the United States of America and The Bahamas have a lot in common. The two discussed a number of topics including labour matters as well as new training opportunities for Bahamians.

Ms. Johnson noted that her key priorities will include citizens security for the United States and The Bahamas, the protection of American citizens, economics, trade investment and strengthening the already close ties which exists between the United States of America and The Bahamas, as well as education.Ms. Johnson was accompanied by Ms. Neda Brown, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy. Also in attendance was Mr. Marco Rolle, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance; Ms. Elizabeth Keju, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service; Mr. Harcourt Brown Senior Undersecretary, and Ms. Janice Miller, Deputy Permanent Secretary.
