Nassau, Bahamas - The New Providence Development Company (NPDCo) announces that the first phase of its mixed use town centre in Western New Providence, a multi-million dollar upscale development, is now underway.

“We are pleased to announce we have broken ground - moving from our 3-year planning phase into physical development,” says Mr. Rhys Duggan, President & CEO, The New Providence Development Company. The new town centre development is a 20-acre mixed use retail and commercial centre with over 60,000 sq ft of upscale retail and office space which will be anchored by AML Foods’ new state-of- the-art 30,000 sq ft fresh market format - Solomon’s Fresh Market.

The first phase includes Solomon ’s Fresh Market , seven pads along Windsor Field Road and the construction of a traffic roundabout at the main access point to the Centre. The New Providence Development Company is currently negotiating with retailers for the pads which are 1-acre free-standing prominent retail spaces in the town centre development offering owners and tenants prime locations with ample parking. The town centre is part of NPDCo’s commitment to regional development inclusive of key conveniences, inviting retail businesses, social and activity centres, open spaces, parks and residential spaces to meet both the existing and the growing demand in the area. “We are excited about this dynamic project and the interest we have received to date from a broad range of retailers and businesses,” says Mr. Duggan. “With the physical development now underway, we are that much closer to realising our commitment to bringing high quality, regional development for residents to live, work and play in Western New Providence,” adds Mr. Duggan.

AML Foods Limited also confirms that plans are well underway for its new Solomon ’s Fresh Market – the town centre’s 30,000 sq ft grocery anchor - and the Group expects to send plans out to bid in the beginning of 2010. Solomon’s Fresh Market will bring a new standard for food shopping in a state-of-the-art facility which is being designed with a focus on an ease of shopping and superior customer service in an energy-efficient, eco-friendly modern location. “From the modern, customer friendly design to the fresh product mix complete with healthy alternatives, our focus at Solomon’s Fresh Market is on delivering superior customer service in an entirely new way,” says Mr. Gavin Watchorn, CEO & President, AML Foods Limited. Solomon’s Fresh Market in the Western New Providence town centre is a tremendous opportunity to bring a refreshing new concept in a terrific location – the first of its kind in The Bahamas,” adds Mr. Watchorn.

Both The New Providence Development Company and AML Foods Limited confirm that they are on target for a Spring 2011 opening. All sales and lease queries should be directed to The New Providence Development Company Limited at 242.362.4177 (telephone), 242.362.4981 and www.npdco.com.
